Dr SenAbout Dr. Binayak Sen

Jonathan Mann award winner and civil liberties activist, doctor of the poor, Dr. Binayak Sen has been jailed by Govt. of India under fabricated charge of being a supporter of Maoist insurgents. He has been jailed for the last 2 years under false cases under a draconian terror law. His jailing is a part of a larger attack on civil liberties of the population and the rights of indigenous people of Chhattisgarh, who the government has indiscriminately killed and displaced, using both state forces and vigilante militias. Right now Dr. Binayak Sen's life is under a mortal threat as the jail is denying medical attention for his heart condition. Come join us in the protest demanding the release of Dr. Binayak Sen, and stand in solidarity with the oppressed people of Chhattisgarh.

An assault on liberties anywhere is an assault on liberties everywhere.
