Welcome to the Boston Chapter of the Association for India's Development (AID). We are a 501(C)(3) (Federal Tax-ID 04-3652609) non-profit charitable organization. Started in 1991 by graduate students at the University of Maryland, AID raises awareness on developmental issues and supports many community development efforts in India. The Boston chapter of AID was started in 1996. We have been an MIT chapter since 2001, and are a registered ASA (Assocition of Student Activities) registered student group. We have about 30 active volunteers participating in various activities ranging from project coordination to planning fund-raisers. AID has been featured in The Hindu, siliconindia.com
and Education Times of India. In 1997, AID received the International
History Week Humanitarian Leadership Award. We are also rated in #3
amongst the top 10 slam-dunk charities by Charity
Navigator. For an in-depth look into AID's activities and network,
