Progress on AID Plan & potential Focus Village candidates

contents

agenda

Focus Village candidates? AID Fellowship candidates?

  • Have any of your projects inspired enough confidence for a sustained long-term relationship that goes beyond funding?
  • Have you worked with an NGO that has a larger vision for holistic development and working with other local groups, at the same time not too big to have an equal and mutually beneficial relationship with AID?
  • Can you see this group being the focus point for AID in that district, who can be involved (based on their enthusiasm) in some (not all) of the initiatives that AID is part of (say the People's Health Campaign)?
  • Do you see AID volunteers being inspired to make detailed visits (a few days long) every year to work on a deeper relationship?

If the answers to these questions is Yes (even if a tentative Yes), your chapter might have a Focus Village candidate!

And, if there is a volunteer who is seriously considering spending a year or more in India devoted to developmental work, then we have a candidate for AID full-timer!

We invite you to think about these questions individually and as a chapter, and bring your ideas to the AID Conference. I am coordinating a session discussing the progress on AID's long term plan. We will have a chance to discuss such candidates. We can also discuss the potential for new full-timers from AID (without disclosing names, if necessary).
