Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Pond circuit
Time : 5:30 p.m., Sunday, May 28 Part of Boston's emerald necklace park system, these are two of the most popular land scaped green expanses of Boston city. The Arboretum is a botanical garden with a wide collection of big trees, little trees (Bonsai), shrubbery and flowering plants from around the world, spread over 265 acres. Few blocks from the Arboretum is the Jamaica Pond park where a wide strip of wooded path surrounds serene and slate blue waters. The pond offers a refreshing getaway in the middle of the city to dozens of rollerbladers, cyclists, dog walkers, runners and boating enthusiasts each day, all summer long. Our trip will start from MIT's Kendall T-station (Boston's subway) to Forest Hills from where the Arboretum is only a stone's throw away. Look forward to a lot of panoramic landscapes, long walks and a possible boating trip in the cool waters of JP. When the trip ends, we hope participants would be left with a rejuvenating outdoors experience and a ravenous appetite. Questions? Suggestions?
